Some very exciting news! This coming Friday morning we will have a special visit from a very successful Irish entrepreneur James Northridge. James will be visiting our school to give an inspirational and motivational talk to our dyslexic pupils.
James is dyslexic and was a winning candidate on Dragons’ Den in 2014 with his company UrAbility. UrAbility was founded by James and is run by him and his team based in DCU. UrAbility specialises in Assistive Technology that helps children and adults with learning difficulties as well as offering training courses. You will find a link to UrAbility here. It is also listed on our own website. Scroll down to Section 9 Assistive Technology.
Please make sure and keep in touch with up-to-date information on dyslexia through our school website.
James will share his amazing story on what dyslexia was like for him when he was in school and how he has managed to get to where he is today. As well as graduating from university James is currently completing his second Masters degree in Boston, America. His current studies focus on Assistive Technology that will help autistic children who are non-verbal. You can watch James’ successful Dragons’ Den pitch on YouTube and follow his progress as completes his studies in Boston.
We are extremely lucky to receive this unique opportunity as James is back in Ireland for a very short time. He will be holding a conference in London on Thursday. After speaking with us on Friday James will continue onto Marino College to address the Irish Association of Teachers in Special Education at their annual conference. He returns to Boston to complete his studies next week.
We are very much looking forward to it!
