Localise… Spirit of Service Graduation

On Monday March 5th, twenty sixth class students travelled to DCU for their graduation ceremony. They had successfully completed their Spirit of Service programme with Rivervalley Localise. After ten weeks of hard work they presented the local conference of St Vincent De Paul with over 100 food hampers, just in time for Christmas, which were all given to deserving families in the community. They then went to Anovacare nursing home, where they sang Christmas carols for the residents and staff, before presenting them with Christmas cards and gifts.
Joshua was chosen to greet the special guest, Minister of Finance, Pascal Donohoe, who went on to speak to the students and congratulate them on their fantastic accomplishments. The certificates were then presented to the students by Vice President of DCU Daire Keogh. He also spoke of his pride in seeing such fantastic achievements by the young people from Dublin.

Amy and Doirenn represented Holy Family and spoke of their Spirit of Service journey and what being part of Localise meant to them. They certainly did us proud with their speech.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Debbie and Seán from Localise, plus the adult volunteers, for all their help and support with the programme. Holy Family SNS are very proud of these wonderful students.
